A new month brings new momentum to the construction site of the Integrated Center for Math and Science. Early April’s construction activities include:
- Continuing construction of the footings and foundations.
- Ongoing form work for the foundation of the wall. The first section of foundation wall will be poured Wednesday.
- Relocation of the water line will be completed by Friday with sprinkler service to the Golisano Academic Center restored.
- Weather-related delay of seeding the lawn area on the north side of Elizabeth George. As soon as weather permits, this area will be completed.
We are also continuing long-term activities on the construction site. For example, immediately after graduation the tunnel between GAC and the psychology building will be closed. Steam line relocation and construction of the tunnel connection to the new building will be taking place. This section of the tunnel will be closed for approximately six weeks. There will also be a campus-wide electrical shut down on Saturday, August 6. The outage is required so that a new electrical transformer can be installed to service the building.
And please join us next week for the official groundbreaking ceremony on Monday, April 11 at 10:30 a.m. The ceremony and reception will celebrate this historic undertaking with Nazareth students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends. Local and state politicians will also be in attendance. We hope to see you there!
